Damage & Returns

What if my delivery contains damaged goods?

Our quality control team inspects all goods immediately upon receipt of delivery from our suppliers (to check for faulty goods or for signs of damage during transit to us) and then again prior to dispatch from our warehouse, so as to avoid supplying you with faulty or damaged goods. However, in the event that the goods received by you are for any reason either faulty or damaged, you should contact us within seven days from the date on which you have accepted delivery of the goods, by phone on 01924 372300 or using our Contact Us form. In that event, we will either replace the goods or repair them within your home.
If either of those courses of action is not acceptable to you, you have the right to have the goods returned to us, and to have a refund of the purchase money paid by you. Provided that you notify us of the defect or damage within a reasonable period of time after delivery, and provided that the damage or defect has not arisen following the date of delivery to you.
You may agree to accept the supply by us of replacement goods, subject to the same terms and conditions as in the supply of the original goods. None of these remedies mentioned in any way affect your statutory rights as a consumer under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (as amended), or otherwise.

Customers must report any damage i.e. scratches, dents, chips, tears, soiling etc immediately upon delivery. It is important that you or your authorised agent immediately upon delivery carefully and thoroughly inspect each item. Please note that you must report any damage immediately upon delivery by noting it on the Delivery Collection Note. Baker Furnishings will be responsible for any damage not reported.

NOTE: The customer must dispose of all packaging with furniture.

What if I have a complaint?

We want your shopping experience to be enjoyable. However, in the unlikely event that you do not enjoy your time shopping with Baker Furnishings please tell us. You can contact us at sales@bakerfurnishings.co.uk or call us on 01924 372300. Any complaints will be dealt with in a prompt and professional manner. We will acknowledge your complaint within 7 working days and will seek to resolve it promptly and to your satisfaction.

Returns

We want you to be happy with your purchase. Once you receive your furniture you have seven days to decide if you wish to return it. If so, we will collect the furniture and we will return your money within thirty days of collection less the cost of collection (up to £100). Alternatively, if you are agreeable, we will issue you with a credit note equal to the value of the returned goods less the cost of collection. It is a pre-condition of either refund of the purchase price, or the issue of a credit of equal value, that the goods are made available for collection by us in the same condition as they were when you accepted delivery of them in the original packaging and unused. Baker Furnishings will not accept the return of any item, which has undergone any assembly by the purchaser. If the goods are not securely wrapped the couriers will refuse to collect and you will be charged for a re-collection. On special order items we will only credit 50% of the original purchase price. Due to health and safety we cannot accept returns of beds and mattresses. This seven-day return (cooling off period) does not apply to special customised orders.

What is your service policy?

We have many years experience in the furniture trade and we only supply furniture from high quality and reputable companies. If you have a problem, we will contact the manufacturer immediately, and either replace or repair. If required we will arrange for their representative to inspect the goods in order to assess what steps need to be taken to remedy your complaint. If we are exchanging your goods there is normally the same waiting period as the original order, you will have full use of the original until the replacement arrives. Your statutory rights, either under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (as amended) or otherwise, are not affected by any remedy, which we offer you.

All of our products come with a full manufacturer’s warranty. This warranty will be for at least one year from the date of supply of the goods to you, but any limitation on the warranty does not in any way affect your statutory rights under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (as amended) or otherwise.
